A stone's throw from the famous Santa Maria del Mar church, stands hotel H10 Montcada.
H10 hotels are always a good bet, they're typically clean and well maintained. What sets this one apart though is the location, bang in the centre of Barcelona and on one of the city's main thoroughfares.
We do recommend you ask for a room at the back of the hotel to protect against any traffic noise, but the truth is it's only a passing ambulance that can be heard through the double glazed windows.
What we were particularly impressed with when we visited Hotel H10 Montcada was the room terrace and jacuzzi - the view for here is divine, taking in the new Torre Agbar, and the Mapre Towers down by the water front.
The rooms are newly appointed, comfortable, with all modern conveniences. Some can be a touch on the small size, but this is a good deal bigger on average than cities like London and Amsterdam.
Rooms are cleaned daily with new towels, guests have access to the jacquzzi, and all hotel facilities.
Nearby, for eating, we recommend Cafè de l'Acadèmia, Limbo and Restaurant Actual.
